My name is Ariana, I’m currently
twenty-one years old and living in a northern suburb of Chicago. When I was 19
years old, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Carter Steven. Carter was
born in April of 2011 and he is my pride and joy, and the most important person
in my life.
I have an amazing mother and
father, and awesome siblings. They helped me a lot throughout my entire
pregnancy and supported my decision to keep my baby. They currently help me go
to school, continue working, and still be young while I still can. They are my
complete support system and without them I don’t know where I would be.
My siblings are my best friends,
and they have been there for me throughout my life, and the hardships of teen
pregnancy. Samantha, age 20, is the sweetest girl you would ever meet. She is
always there to talk to me, give me advice, or just be a friend when I need
one. She is one of the strongest people I know, and she is a huge part of my
support system. Erica, age 18, is a sassy girl who I always know can cheer me
up. She makes me laugh all the time with her cute attitude. She knows all my
stories and secrets, and she definitely is one of a kind. Last but not least,
Danny, age 17, is a funny and talented swimmer/diver that I actually look up
to. When I look at him I remind myself to be the best I can be and don’t settle
for anything less than what you deserve, and always fight for the best. My son
reminds me of him when he was a baby, and it’s an amazing sight seeing my
family grow bigger and stronger.
I am currently enrolled in
community college majoring in Law Enforcement. I am interested in attending law
school as well, but that all depends on how much I enjoy my future career as a
police officer. The interest in law enforcement runs in my family, and I would
like nothing more than to continue to follow in my father and mothers footsteps
and become a police officer or emergency 911 dispatcher.
I found out I was pregnant on
August 18 of 2010, when I was in a relationship that wasn’t a good place to
bring in a baby. It was an abusive relationship which I was scared to continue
being pregnant, let alone having a child. I ended the relationship shortly
after discovering the pregnancy, and my life has continued to grow better
since.
I currently work at Starbucks
Coffee, which I also was employed at throughout the pregnancy. It was difficult
to work on my feet closer to the last few weeks of being pregnant, however
being a teen mom and considering the lack of education, I did not have much of
a choice where I was employed.
I also am an Independent Consultant
for Scentsy Fragrance! (arianatmia.scentsy.us)
I love to write and during high
school I considered a career in journalism, and took a few classes regarding
the topic as well. I hope one day to have a side job doing some kind of
writing, however for now this website will be my focus.
I decided to create this website to
inform teenagers and young adults about being a teen parent, and prevention of
pregnancy. I share stories of my life adventures being a young mom, and also
share information about teen pregnancy, pregnancy options, and birth control
methods. I hope to change the life of just one person to help them making the
right decisions to prevent teen pregnancy, or help guide them in their decision
in what to do with their pregnancy.
Thank you for reading my about me,
and I hope you continue to read my website and be well informed about
everything you need to know about teenage pregnancy and my life as a young mom.
